Job Title: Prepared Foods Cook
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Prepared Foods Cook to join our team at
Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our prepared foods team, you
will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food
items for our customers. This includes preparing food according to
production sheets, ensuring that all prepared items are labeled,
dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and
rotated.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot
bars according to production sheets.
• Prepare food items according to recipe to ensure quality and
consistency.
• Monitor food levels and replenish in a timely manner.
• Ensure excellent customer service, address customer needs in a
timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling
techniques.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures
for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
product.
Requirements:
• Thorough product knowledge.
• Ability to follow a recipe.
• Good understanding of food production and fundamental cooking
techniques.
• Good basic math skills.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work
as part of a team.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in
all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
Working Conditions:
This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for
6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a fast-paced
environment with a sense of urgency. Additionally, you must be able
to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and
