Job Description:
AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York
City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary
performing arts colleges in the country. AMDA offers various
pathways for students to receive unparalleled performing arts
education taught by world-class industry professionals, including
Professional Conservatory Certificates as well as undergraduate and
graduate degrees (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts,
Associate of Occupational Studies, Master of Fine Arts and Master
of Arts).
AMDA College of the Performing Arts is seeking a passionate and
innovative faculty member to join our team in the MA in Performance
Studies, with a concentration in Arts Education Program. This
one-year graduate program offers PED501 Pedagogy and Curriculum
Planning I. This course offers an interdisciplinary approach to
crafting course design, advanced pedagogy, and innovative
curriculum planning within the dynamic field of performing arts
education. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in shaping
the next generation of educators, fostering critical thinking, and
advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the
classroom.
The MA in Performance Studies, with a concentration in Arts
Education, is a one-year graduate program designed to provide
students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary exploration of
course design, advanced pedagogy, and equity in the classroom. The
program emphasizes the development of critical perspectives on the
diverse pedagogical approaches and historical contexts that have
influenced the evolution of performing arts education. Through
rigorous research, critical examination, and innovative thinking,
students are equipped to become advocates for meaningful change in
educational contexts, fostering a commitment to equity, diversity,
and inclusion.
