THE ORGANIZATION
The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund was established in 1981 to promote the full participation of Latinos in the American political process. NALEO Educational Fund achieves its mission through integrated strategies that include increasing the effectiveness of Latino policymakers, mobilizing the Latino community to engage in civic life, and promoting policies that advance Latino political engagement.
Founded in 1981 by the late Congressman Edward R. Roybal, NALEO Educational Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization governed by a 15-member Board of Directors and a 36-member Board of Advisors. Headquartered in Monterey Park, CA, the NALEO Educational Fund maintains offices in Houston, New York City, Orlando, Phoenix, and Washington D.C. It employs about 60 full-time staff with an annual budget of $12 million and offers a competitive benefits package.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Development Manager - Corporate Relations is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of corporate sponsors and attracting private sector investors to the NALEO Educational Fund for programmatic or event-related investment. This position will provide leadership for generating revenue for Policy Institutes, including developing prospect lists and creating a fundraising plan to meet and exceed gross revenue targets. Additionally, this position will support the operations of the department, including donor convenings, special events, yearly planning, and fundraising metrics and tracking.
This position requires building a robust portfolio of private industry donors as well as maintaining fruitful relationships with existing corporate funders. Responsibilities include contributing to the development of comprehensive sponsorship packages, ensuring compliance with benefits packages for special events, and maintaining regular communication with corporate funders throughout the year. This position will also assist with Salesforce onboarding as needed and requires travel consistent with organization policies and public health guidelines. This is a full-time, non-exempt, fully remote position with an annual salary range of $40.87 Hr. - $43.27 Hr. (annualized at $85,000 - $90,000), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Develop and manage a fundraising plan to meet and exceed gross revenue targets.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop a vetted list of new potential funders.
  • Ensure that work meets internal revenue milestones and fits the internal timeline.
  • Create tailored responses to donor inquiries.
  • Support Salesforce building and maintenance.
  • Interact with donors and prepare online funding requests.
  • Secure and maintain new potential investors for sponsorable events.
  • Assist with day-to-day duties in the Development Department and other Departments as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards of the organization.
  • Occasional meetings and/or work at the organization's headquarters will be required.

    QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Evidence of effective time management skills.
    • Exceptional office skills with the ability to multi-task various priorities.
    • Highly detail-oriented.
    • College degree preferred.
    • Minimum of five years' experience in nonprofit development or a similar organization.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with accuracy and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to take initiative and effectively handle change.
    • Ability to be flexible and balance competing priorities.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively under pressure.
    • Existing knowledge of project management tools and CRM systems.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and other applications a plus.
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Must be available for overtime/flexible scheduling and periodic travel.
    • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
    • If a driver, must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
