Volt is immediately hiring for Dimensional Inspector in South Gate, CA.

As a Dimensional Inspector you will:

Job Description:
Read blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
Compare the surface finish of workpieces to standard blocks using fingertip touch comparison to ensure specified surface finish.
Measure dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points to ensure products meet specifications.
Locate reference points on parts and measure dimensions such as angles, arcs, and radii.
Report findings to the Inspection Supervisor and write Inspection Deviation Reports (IDR) if parts are not in conformance.
Set up and try out inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
Substitute known values from blueprints into standard formulas and solve for unknown quantities to determine unspecified dimensions.
Set up portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related software.
Use forklifts and cranes to move heavy parts.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience reading blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
Ability to compare the surface finish of workpieces to standard blocks using fingertip touch comparison.
Proficiency in measuring dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points.
Skill in locating reference points on parts and measuring dimensions such as angles, arcs, and radii.
Experience reporting findings to supervisors and writing Inspection Deviation Reports (IDR) if parts are not in conformance.
Ability to set up and try out inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
Competence in substituting known values from blueprints into standard formulas and solving for unknown quantities.
Experience setting up portable CMM and related software.
Ability to use forklifts and cranes to move heavy parts.




Full-time 2nd Shift Opportunity.

Hours: 3 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday (possible Saturday)

Pay Rate: $25-$30/Hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
